“I’m saying the right things, but nothing’s changing.”

Is talk therapy not working for you?

You’re successful on paper. You’re doing all the right things.

Maybe you’ve been in therapy for years. You’ve read the books. You’ve journaled. You’ve done the inner work…

But somehow, you're still haunted by the same core wounds.

  • You feel triggered in relationships - like you’re stuck in an endless loop of anxiety, overthinking, or emotional shutdown.

  • You struggle to trust, to feel safe, to relax around others.

  • And deep down, a part of you still wonders if something’s “broken” inside.

If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone - and you’re not broken. You’re likely carrying unprocessed trauma from your childhood, your relationships, or early attachment wounds.

And no amount of talk therapy alone can truly heal what your nervous system hasn’t had the chance to fully process.

Let’s Talk About Why This Happens

(And Why It’s Not Your Fault)

Childhood and attachment trauma isn’t just something you remember - it lives in your body.

It's why you keep reacting the way you do, even when your mind knows better.

When you were younger, you may not have had the safety, tools, or support to fully process the pain, neglect, or fear you experienced. So your brain did what it had to do: it stored that trauma.

But now, as an adult, that stored trauma is showing up in your relationships, your self-worth, your boundaries, your body - and it’s exhausting.

You might find yourself asking:

Why do I shut down or panic when someone gets close?

Why do I feel like I’m “too much” or “not enough”?

Why can’t I move past the pain of things that happened so long ago?

The answer? Because your nervous system still thinks it’s happening.

And unless you give your brain and body the chance to process those old survival responses, you’ll keep feeling stuck in cycles of anxiety, shame, fear, or disconnect.

EMDR Intensives in London | UK

EMDR as Part of Trauma-Focused Care

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a well-established psychological approach for trauma-related difficulties. Within our service, EMDR is used as part of a broader trauma-informed framework rather than as a standalone technique.

Preparation, pacing, and integration are prioritised to ensure the work is contained and responsive to individual needs. EMDR may be delivered remotely where clinically appropriate and in line with professional guidance.

But here’s what most people don’t know:

Traditional EMDR (in weekly sessions) is incredibly effective—but it can take months or years to get through deeper trauma.

Therapy Intensives using EMDR, on the other hand, compress weeks or months of therapy into just a few days—giving you a powerful head start on healing.

Imagine what’s possible when you don’t have to pause your healing after 50 minutes. When you have the time, safety, and space to go deep without interruption.

What Happens in a Therapy Intensive?

Every intensive is tailored to you. We start with a deep intake and co-create a treatment plan based on your goals and history. Then, we meet for 90 minutes over 4-6 sessions or as needed.

This allows your brain to stay in the healing process longer, process more, and create lasting change in a shorter time frame.

What clients report:

  • Feeling lighter, clearer, and more at peace—often after just one day

  • The ability to set boundaries, trust themselves, and feel safer in relationships

  • Processing things they never thought they could

  • More healing in one weekend than years of therapy

Trauma-Focused EMDR Pathways

Multiple-Event EMDR Course (12–16 Sessions)

This structured EMDR course is designed for individuals with repeated, layered, or developmental trauma, where experiences span longer periods or multiple contexts.

The course allows for:

  • Gradual preparation and stabilisation

  • Processing of multiple trauma memories

  • Integration of insights into current life and relationships

This format recognises that complex trauma often requires a more phased and relational approach, rather than rapid processing.

Single-Event EMDR Intensive (3-4 sessions)

This option is designed for individuals whose difficulties are linked to a specific, identifiable traumatic event.

A single-event EMDR intensive offers a focused, time-limited approach to processing trauma related to experiences such as accidents, medical events, assaults, or other one-off incidents.

This format may be appropriate where:

  • The trauma is clearly defined

  • The individual is psychologically stable

  • There is limited complexity or developmental trauma

A therapy intensive is like a Disney FastPass: it gives you VIP access to skip the long waitlists of traditional therapy and fast-track your healing journey.

This Is for You If…

  • You’ve already done therapy - but still feel stuck

  • You’re emotionally exhausted and don’t want to keep “managing” your pain

  • You’re ready for deep, focused healing- without dragging it out for months

  • You’re dealing with childhood, relational, or attachment wounds that still affect your present

ENQUIRE NOW

You do not have to live your life in emotional survival mode.
You do not have to keep repeating the same patterns in your relationships.

And you don’t have to spend years in therapy to start feeling better.

FAQs about therapy intensives

  • Therapy intensives are extended therapy sessions designed to help you process and heal from distressing or traumatic experiences in a focused, concentrated way. Instead of weekly sessions, intensives allow us to dive deeper over 90 minutes- helping you make meaningful progress in a shorter timeframe.

I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) as the primary modality during these intensives, allowing for targeted and effective trauma reprocessing in a safe, supported space.

They’re ideal if you’re feeling stuck, want to work through a specific issue more efficiently, or prefer a more immersive approach to trauma healing.

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a powerful, evidence-based therapy used to help process and heal from traumatic or distressing experiences. It works by helping the brain reprocess stuck memories using guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, allowing emotional healing to occur naturally.

  • If you're ready for deep work and have a clear goal or trauma you'd like to address, an EMDR intensive may be a good fit. It's also great for busy professionals or individuals who find weekly sessions hard to commit to. A consultation call will help us decide the best approach for your needs.

  • You can schedule a free 20 minute consultation through my website. We’ll discuss your goals, assess whether EMDR or an intensive format is right for you, and go through what to expect in the process.

  • EMDR has a strong research base. Studies show that EMDR intensives can lead to significant reductions in PTSD, anxiety, and depression within days, with outcomes comparable to or exceeding those of months of weekly therapy (Greenwald et al., 2021; van Woudenberg et al., 2018). Intensives have also been associated with lower dropout rates and improved emotional stability throughout the treatment process (Zarate et al., 2022).

EMDR has proven especially effective in complex or treatment-resistant cases, such as developmental trauma, grief, and attachment wounds (Wesson & Gould, 2009; de Roos et al., 2011). Recognized by the World Health Organization, American Psychological Association, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as a gold-standard treatment for PTSD (WHO, 2013; APA, 2017; VA/DoD, 2017), EMDR continues to show efficacy across diverse populations and clinical settings (Lee & Cuijpers, 2013).
