No. You don’t need a diagnosis—or even a clear reason—to begin. Many of my clients start therapy because they feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or unsure of who they are. That’s more than enough. We’ll explore things together, without labels or pressure.

As a Clinical Psychologist, I’m trained to a doctoral level or equivalent and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). This means I have extensive training in assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based psychological therapies. I work with a wide range of emotional, relational, and mental health difficulties—often including more complex or long-standing issues.
While terms like therapist and counsellor are widely used, they are not legally protected titles in the UK. These professionals also offer valuable support, often through talking therapies, but their training routes can vary in length and depth.
In short:
Clinical Psychologist – Doctorate-level training, HCPC-registered, able to assess and treat a broad range of mental health conditions.
Therapist/Psychotherapist – Varying qualifications, may be registered with bodies like UKCP or BACP, focuses on emotional wellbeing through talk therapy.
Counsellor – Typically supports with more immediate or short-term challenges, often using a person-centred approach.
All of these roles can be helpful—what matters most is finding the right fit for your needs.

I welcome clients from all backgrounds who are looking to work with a culturally-informed therapist who works within systemic oppression and intersectionality.
-
That’s very common. Trauma doesn’t always show up as clear memories—it often shows up as patterns, emotional reactions, or body sensations. You don’t need a detailed story to heal. Therapy, especially EMDR, can help process what’s stored in your system, even if you can’t put it all into words.

I take an integrative, holistic approach, combining scientifically-backed interventions like CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and EMDR (Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing), with mindfulness and acceptance-based strategies. This allows me to provide individualized relationship therapy, grief counseling, and support for mood disorders.
My work is rooted in a social justice and anti-oppressive lens, with a particular focus on decolonizing therapy within the South Asian community, including individuals and couples from Indian, Bangladeshi, Nepalese, Pakistani, and Sri Lankan backgrounds. If you're looking for a professional therapist who understands the unique cultural challenges of South Asian relationships, I offer couples therapy tailored to your needs.
-
I specialize in helping individuals and couples struggling with:
Depression, Anxiety, and OCD
Codependency
Relationship challenges and Couples Therapy (including ADHD-related relationship struggles)
Grief counseling and support through loss
Addictions and Trauma (including intergenerational trauma)
I do not work with clients experiencing suicidal ideation, self-harm behaviors, personality disorders, or eating disorders.

This varies from person to person. Some people benefit from short-term therapy (6–12 sessions), while others may choose longer-term work.
Following our initial assessment session, I'll typically recommend the most suitable session frequency and duration for your specific needs. We'll review your progress together regularly.

I currently offer virtual therapy only. This means that you can access online counselling conveniently from anywhere with online therapy sessions, and enjoy the flexibility of receiving support from the comfort and privacy of your own home.
Virtual therapy is scientifically proven to be as effective as face to face therapy.
If I feel your needs may not be suitably met by virtual therapy for any reason, I will let you know this in our assessment session.

Yes. I specialise in working with South Asian women and bring cultural awareness to every session. I understand the complexities of family expectations, unspoken roles, and inherited pressures. Therapy will never ask you to abandon your roots—it will help you relate to them differently, with more clarity and choice.

Cancellation Policy
When we enter into therapy together, we make a mutual commitment. Your session time is reserved specifically for you, and I intentionally limit the number of clients I see to ensure I can show up fully present, without burnout, and offer the highest quality care.
Because of this, sessions cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed entirely will be charged at the full fee. I understand that life happens. If an emergency or unavoidable conflict arises, please let me know - I’ll always do my best to make alternative arrangements and waive the fee where appropriate.
