Hello, I’m Raisa.

I’m a clinical psychologist who is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and hold chartered status with the British Psychological Society.

Over the last 11 years, I have trained and worked in a variety of different settings including with young people, adults and families and most recently held the post of Lead psychologist at an inpatient complex mental healthcare hospital in London.

I have helped clients with depression, anxiety, OCD, and intergenerational trauma, PTSD & addiction through a trauma-informed, culturally-sensitive lens.

I’m experienced in a range of different psychological approaches, the key approaches that inform my practice are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing).

I try to maintain a curious, compassionate stance and works to create a judgement-free and reflective space for my clients. I’m currently based in London and work in independent psychology practice.

Why choose to work with me?

Cultural sensitivity: As a South Asian therapist myself, I have a deep understanding of cultural nuances. During my clinical psychology training, I have lived and worked at the grassroots level in rural India, delivering evidence-based and culture-sensitive therapy within a resource-deficient environment.

Experience in intergenerational trauma: In my personal life, I have experienced first-hand intergenerational trauma, mental health challenges and addiction issues within the family. I have also seen incredible examples of strength and resilience in my life, and bring this experiential learning with me to the therapy space, combining experience with clinical expertise.

Using my own experience with intergenerational trauma and other mental health challenges to develop empathy, I help other individuals heal from inherited trauma and navigate complex family dynamics.

Collaborative & strengths-based approach: Therapy is a collaborative process where your autonomy is prioritized, working together towards positive change. I believe that YOU are the expert of your own life. My approach is also very much focussed on turning adversity into strength, and I'm here to help you do that.

At every step I ask myself, ‘What would I want if I were in your seat?’
